On December 11, 2023, an International Exhibition was held in Ashgabat on the sidelines of the International Forum “Dialogue-Guarantee of Peace”.

 

 

 

 

The exhibition featured works by the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, information and promotional materials in the field of tourism and investment, books on the history and civilization of the ancient Tajik people, samples of national clothing, ceramics, musical instruments, photographs and illustrations of charming places reflecting the positive image of Tajikistan, as well as a variety of traditional sweets and pastries were presented to numerous foreign guests.

 

 

 

At the same time, the participants of the event got acquainted with folk crafts, including handicrafts, embroidery, pottery, etc., and highly appreciated the corner of Tajikistan.

The UN Office in Geneva opened the exhibition “Creating a Better World” on October 24, 2023, on the occasion of United Nations Day.

 

 

 

The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva has showcased Chakan, national embroidery art inscribed on UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2018, at the exhibition.

 

 

 

The event was aimed to recognize and support the importance of handicraft around the globe promote culture as an instrument of dialogue among the nations.

 

 

 

The visitors were briefed about the country’s national traditions, in particular it has been mentioned that Chakan is a kind of folk handicraft that has a very ancient history and is closely related to the life, customs and spiritual world of the Tajik people.

The exhibition will continue until November 10.

On March 11, 2023 on the eve of the international holiday Navruz and in connection with declaring 2022-2026 – the Years of Industrial Development, at the initiative of the Embassy of Tajikistan to Germany, a collection of clothes in the national style of the Tajik designer Nafisa Imronova was shown at the «Fashionshow Ottostadt macht Mode» exhibition in the city of Magderburg.

Tajik Ambassador to Germany Imomoudin Sattorov talked about the history of the Tajik atlas, adras and chakan and stressed that the art of Tajik embroidery “Chakan” was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2018.

On March 7-9, 2023, the international exhibition “ITB Berlin-2023” was held in Berlin, where the official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan and representatives of domestic tourism companies took part.

Within the framework of joint cooperation between the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Embassy of Tajikistan to Germany and the Exhibition Centre of Berlin “Messe Berlin”, a tourist corner of our country was organized under the name “Tajikistan – the country of tourism”.

In the Tajik corner, visitors and travel lovers were presented with materials on tourism opportunities, guides, maps, information flyers and etc.

It should be stressed that the active participation of the Republic of Tajikistan in ITB Berlin will create a favorable condition for the presentation of the country’s tourism opportunities, attracting a large number of tourists and strengthening effective cooperation between domestic and international tourism companies.

In 2023, 5,500 representatives from 161 countries participated in ITB Berlin, thereby presenting their opportunities and services to participants and industry experts.
