MFA of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the Permanent Representative of Finland to the OSCE

 

 

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov met with the Permanent Representative of Finland to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Vesa Hakkinen.

 

 

 

During the negotiations, the sides exchanged views on the interaction within the OSCE, as well as parties’ vision for improving the activities of the Organization.

 

 

 

 

The Deputy Foreign Minister informed representatives of Finland about the large-scale reforms being carried out in our country, as well as the main directions of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy.

 

 

 

 

Mutual interest was expressed in implementing joint projects within the OSCE in the areas of “green economy” and “green energy”, mitigating the negative consequences of climate change.

 

 

 

The parties also discussed certain issues on the regional and international agenda.

Tashkent hosted negotiations between the deputy foreign ministers of Uzbekistan and Lithuania

 

 

 

On October 12, 2023, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Jovita Neliupsiene.

 

 

 

The parties discussed a wide range of issues on the Uzbekistan-Lithuania agenda, with an emphasis on further strengthening political dialogue, boosting trade and economic cooperation, and expanding cultural and humanitarian ties.

 

 

 

 

The sides noted the need to take joint measures to deepen cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries and continue the practice of holding political consultations.

 

 

 

 

The agenda of the negotiations also included issues of interaction between Uzbekistan and Lithuania within the UN and its specialized agencies, as well as the European Union.

The parties reviewed the current state and prospects for the development of interaction between Uzbekistan and the EU in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

 

 

 

 

 

The sides also discussed the organizational aspects of upcoming events in the “Uzbekistan – EU” and “Central Asia – EU” formats.

 

 

 

 

They noted the need for an early signing of the Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the European Union.
