Adoption of the Periodic Report of the Republic of Tajikistan on the Implementation of the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and the Current Status of the Elements Inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List

On December 9, 2025, in New Delhi, Republic of India, the Periodic Report of the Republic of Tajikistan on the implementation of the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, as well as the current status of the elements inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List, was officially adopted by the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The Committee’s positive assessment of the Report acknowledges Tajikistan’s contribution to advancing policies aimed at safeguarding and promoting intangible cultural heritage and recognizes the country’s consistent and exemplary policy framework in this field.

The Periodic Report of Tajikistan was considered during the 20th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, which is currently taking place on 8–13 December 2025 in New Delhi, and was recommended as a model document for other countries.
